about me
My unexpected journey to design began in 2020, during Covid time, when I landed a job as Project Manager in a smaller startup company. The start was rocky, as nobody knows what’s going to happen next, due to the virus. But as work in an IT field didn’t really stop I quickly learned how to adapt to unexpected situations on projects I’ve been working on. This role not only opened my door to the IT world and design, but also taught me how to handle stress and quick desicion making.
A year and a half later I decided to change my direction to a more specific field, as a Project Manager I had insight into shallow parts of programming, marketing and design, but wanted more. So I started learning frontend programming, and whilst that didn’t become my main focus, it still helped me understand technical parts of designing websites and apps.
Almost every single day after work, I studied UX/UI design from courses, books and training projects. And a few months later I got an opportunity to work on a small website for a client of the company I still worked at as a PM. This was the beggining of me tipping my toes in all kinds of design that was necessary at the time.
Since then I’ve worked on multiple websites and apps, from marketing landing pages to e-shops with multiple products and complex filters across. I’ve expanded my focus to graphic design as well and made social media and digital ads posts. I learned motion design to make my work more alive and prints & packaging graphics so I can satisfy all my client’s needs. I also tried 3D in blender and was able to make easy mockups, even tho I do prefer making them now in Photoshop, because I understand that the time and budget is the center-piece of every project.
One of my biggest experiences was with a private healthcare company, where I reworked multiple of their websites from scratch with a multi-level navigations and new e-commerce parts. I made design system, prototypes and animations for these websites as well as supporting designs for their marketing team. With this client I learned more about graphic design as I was making prints and packagings for their physical products and mockups for the digital ones.
My design skill is expandable and I like new challenges, but my main focus and love still stays with UX/UI for websites and apps, from small non-profits to large projects that need to have a complex design system with a solid UX foundation and initial analysis.
