I collaborated long-term with a private healthcare client offering high-end, personalized medical services. Over time, I worked on multiple aspects of their visual and digital presence, with a primary focus on web design.

Over time, I got to work on a variety of design tasks, from redesigning several of their websites to better match their brand, tocreating visuals for DNA test kits, gift vouchers, and marketing materials for both print and social media. I worked closely with their marketing team to keep everything visually consistent across the board.

At the beginning of the project, I joined as a junior designer without a UX lead to guide the process. This required a lot of independent decision-making and self-learning, and although some areas could have benefited from deeper research, the experience gave me valuable insights into working with real-world constraints and evolving client needs.

Megamenu.

One of the biggest challenges in the project was designing the mega menu, as the website offers dozens of medical services. Since the platform deals with healthcare, I drew inspiration from real hospitals, especially from the way physical directories and reception signage guide patients. Based on that, I structured the services into clear categories that support both types of users: those who already know exactly which medical specialty they need, and those who only recognize their symptoms but aren’t sure which doctor can help them.

Another part was prioritizing certain services. Some were most frequently searched for, while others needed strategic visibility from a business standpoint. Balancing those two perspectives was essential for creating a menu that remained user-centered while still supporting the client’s goals.

I chose a clean, modular square layout to keep the content easy to scan, with the option to expand items into rectangular dropdowns. This allowed the menu to flexibly adapt to categories with only one service as well as those containing several, without breaking the overall visual rhythm.

Website and content.

The overall feel of the website is minimalist while still conveying a refined, high-end character. To compliment the brand’s purple color, I introduced a soft pastel palette that doesn’t overpower the primary color but adds a touch of vibrancy. This helped enhance visual clarity across services and categories, making them easier to distinguish while maintaining an elegant look.

All UI elements, including buttons, colors, cards, tables, etc... were made as components for easy development and consistency across the whole project. Altoa website has multiple services and they constantly add new ones, so the goal was to make design for the main services and sites and then templates, that developers can easily follow and change only the content itself. That’s why it was crucial to make working variable components and easy to use UI library.

Other graphics.

Graphics for social media and packaging for the physical products were shared between me and another graphic designer. I was responsible for the vouchers, mockups, and web animations, as well as the copywriting, where I mainly refined and polished the initial draft texts to maintain good UX experience.

Mockups were designed in a way that allows easy updates and customization. At the time, generative image AI was still relatively new, so I experimented with it to produce small visual details, such as fruit elements and subtle textures. However, I continued to craft all the key components myself, including the DNA kit box and its contents, to keep full control over the final result.

All client’s needs.

Other than the main website, I was working on other various projects and designs for Altoa, including branding and packaging for their new products , as well as prints and some social media posts.

I experimented with 3D models in Blender and learned how to work with Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. This project was a huge challenge. Looking back, I can see some segments I would’ve made slightly differently now, but I’m still proud of my work, especially due to the fact, that the client’s needs were always satisfied.

If you’ve read this far, thank you for taking your time. I’m always open to feedback and more challenging projects that are ahead of me.
