Mobile-first insurance app

Mobile-first claims handling app for PetExpert that streamlines complex insurance workflows and helps agents resolve client cases faster and more accurately.

ANIMATION

I worked on a mobile-first application for PetExpert designed for insurance agents who manage claims and incident reports for their clients. The app is part of a broader ecosystem of internal tools, and while some of them I helped shape as well, this particular project allowed me to focus on creating a streamlined, highly functional experience for everyday claim handling.

The visual branding was already well established, but both the UX structure and the UI itself were entirely under my responsibility. I created supporting graphics in Photoshop where needed, and built the layouts, flows, and the reusable UI library in Figma. The goal was to ensure consistency across the app while also making the components easy to adopt in future products within the company.

As part of the project, I also designed an insurance pass containing the active policy number and key contract details. Users can add this pass to their Apple or Google Wallet, giving them instant access to essential information whenever they need it.

Functional design.

PetExpert, one of the leading pet insurance companies in Europe, operates a wide ecosystem of internal systems and applications that need to work together seamlessly. This project was part of that infrastructure, so while following the existing brand and the strictly defined functionality, I needed to deliver an easy-to-navigate app for both their insurance partners and clients.

Although the app’s content was clearly defined, it existed only as a text specification. To transform it into a functional structure, I created wireframes and presented them to the lead developer, with whom I regularly consulted the next steps to ensure the solution stayed aligned with technical requirements.

With the freedom to modernize and influence the future design direction, I focused on building reusable, well-structured components that would simplify development and improve consistency across the ecosystem. I transformed key UI elements, such as cards, buttons, and input fields, into standardized variables, and unified colors and typography into defined style tokens.

Screen’s design and prototype.

I prepared all key screens, including their various states, and reused the established UI components to make implementation as straightforward as possible. This approach helped the development team work efficiently and stay within the tight timeline.

To support smoother collaboration, I also created a functional prototype demonstrating interactions, motion, and transitions. This not only clarified my design intentions but also reduced the amount of back-and-forth during development, ultimately shortening the overall production time.

Other graphics.

During the development phase, I also designed supporting graphics and an insurance pass that clients can add to their Apple or Google Wallet. This makes the process at the vet significantly easier, as clients have instant access to all essential information through a QR code. The goal was to streamline the experience in stressful situations and remove unnecessary friction.

Thank you taking your time to read this case study, I’m always open to a feedback that can help me improve.
